Domestic violence remains a concern in Kasese town, says Central Division Chairperson

Mr. Martin Safari, the Central Division Chairperson in Kasese Municipality has called upon all stakeholders to join hands in the fight against the rising cases of domestic violence in Kasese town.

Addressing the Councilors during a council sitting yesterday morning, Mr. Safari stressed that as a way of curtailing the ever increasing cases of domestic violence from the communities, leaders ought to join hands and work together through using their different platforms to preach against domestic violence.

He thus asked the leaders to always prioritize the issue of fighting against domestic for peace to prevail in families.  

Hon. Sylvia Ajombo, the Woman Councilor representing Kikonzo and Railway Cells who raised the concern, faulted the District Probation Office for allegedly not doing much in the fight against domestic violence across in the entire local government.

She called for the intervention of the Nongovernmental Organizations and the District leaders in the fight against the vice from the communities. ENDS
