BY MOUREEN BIIRA

Parents wherever they are have been reminded of their role to prioritize their children’s education as the only sounding legacy that they would leave behind after their demise.

The reminder was sounded today by the Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Mason Baluku while speaking to the congregation at Mutanywana Secondary School in Kyarumba Town Council.

The Bishop had gone to the institution to confirm 15 students into the Anglican faith, dedicate the candidates for P.L.E, UCE and UACE from the different schools within the town Council and also to also dedicate their newly elected student leaders at Mutanywana Secondary School to God for blessings.

The Prelate told the gathering that success was a shared goal achieved by the child, parent and the entire community.

According to him, it was easy for an uneducated community, clan, family or tribe to disappear, a Reason why collective efforts towards education were needed.

To the teachers, the Bishop urged them to love their profession as well as teaching with passion so as to achieve the best out of their learners.

He subsequently reminded to develop positive attitudes towards learning and being willing to work hard and persevere among others.
