An Anglican Church Minister attached to South Rwenzori Diocese has advised Ugandans not to be divided basing on their various political party affiliations.
Rev. Hon. Ezra Mukonzo Yongeza who also doubles the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Minister in-charge of Religious Affairs sounded the advice last evening while preaching to the mourners who had thronged Saluti A Cell in Kanyangeya Ward of Nyamwamba Division in Kasese Municipality for requiem service of the Late Ruth Asiimwe Kabugho Kikusa.
The Late Kikusa died yesterday at Kagando Hospital in Kisinga Town Council where she had been rushed while battling some birth complications. The deceased had just completed four days after giving birth to a baby boy at Kasese Hospital in Kasese town.
In his preaching, Rev. Mukonzo lashed at the way some people have been divided because of politics, arguing that the act was uncalled for.
He implored the people to embrace the five pillars that the Rwenzururu King has advocated for in the rebranding process. They include peace and unity, reconciliation, socio-economic development and mindset change, which according to him are also biblical.
In his remarks, the Kasese Municipality MP, Ferigo Kambale described the Late Kikusa as a person who has been compassionate and committed to her FDC party. According to him, despite being an FDC member, the deceased couldn’t discriminate people basing on their political affiliations.
On his part, the Kasese Municipality Mayor, Mr. Chance Kahindo urged the FDC members to emulate the Late Kikusa’s character.
