SPCs relieved of their duties after elections

BY ABDALA MASEREKA

The Special Police Constables (SPCs) who were recruited to aid the police operations during the recently concluded 2026 General Elections have today been relieved of their duties with a call on them to maintain discipline as they reunite with the members of the public in their respective communities.

Speaking to Messiah Radio at Kasese Central Police Station, the Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson, SP Nelson Tumushime, tipped the SPCs that good discipline would act as a basis for them to be recalled in case of any opportunity.

Tumushime called upon the members of the general public to timely report any cases of misconduct of the relieved Special Constables for accountability.

The Regional Police Mouthpiece used the same platform to note that they were hunting for the suspects involved in the alleged murder of a 63- year- old woman that happened over the weekend in Nyakasojo Upper Village in Nyakabingo Sub-county.

He identified the victim as Merizolina Kyakimwa and pledged to bring the perpetrators to book.
