Rwenzururu Queen partners with Kyakere organizers-Tul Audio Co. Ltd

The Queen of Rwenzururu Kingdom, Her Royal Highness Nyabaghole Agnes Ithungu Asiimawe, has signed a partnership agreement with the Kyakere Carnival organizers -Tul Audio Company Limited, in a campaign against teenage pregnancies and child marriages in the Rwenzori sub-region.

Addressing the media yesterday at the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Muyenga based palace in Kampala shortly after signing the partnership agreement, on behalf of the Nyabaghole Foundation, Her Royal Highness highlighted the need for various stakeholders to join the campaign, arguing that child marriages and teenage pregnancies in the Kingdom do not only hinder girl child development but also
threaten the future of communities, families and cultural heritage.

Nyabaghole announced the Kyakere carnival slated for October 18, 2025 at Trans-Africa, Kasese, describing the event as a vibrant community-driven function aimed at raising awareness and mobilizing collective action against early pregnancies and child marriages.

Nyabaghole encouraged all the people of Rwenzururu Kingdom and beyond to attend the Kyakere Carnival, an event that attracts several local and international artists, to show solidarity and support the campaign.

The Kyakere carnival, an annual event, has become a popular social entertainment experience that attracts thousands of revelers from not only Kasese District but also different parts of the country with both local and international artists, mostly from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
