The Rwenzori Anti-Corruption Coalition Executive Director, Angela Byangwa, has challenged the general public in Kasese district to embrace of offering a service, accountability and collaboration in order to transform public resources into meaningful impact and ensure dignity and opportunity for development in the communities.
Ms Byangwa sounded the challenge yesterday afternoon while delivering a donation of 20 bags of cement of Base camp Primary School in the Central Division of Kasese Municipality as a way of giving back to the community as they commemorate the Anti-Corruption Week, 2025.
She explained that corruption does not manifest through stolen money but also stolen opportunities, neglected service and compromised community well-being, adding that it affects human rights, access to safe water and sanitation.
The Kasese Municipality Deputy Mayor, Rabson Mupango who also doubles as the Focal Person for the Rwenzori Anti-Corruption Coalition in Kasese district, noted that he was committed to improving the education system in Base camp cell.
Mr. Mupango asked the residents to cooperate as they foster the development of the institution. He announced that government would construct a two -classroom block at the institution.
Shortly after receiving the donation, the School’s Headteacher, Erisa Muhindo applauded Rwenzori Anti-Corruption Coalition for thinking about his school, promising to use the cement for the purpose for which it was meant.
