The police in Kasese district have observed the need for continued cooperation between community members and the law enforcement agencies in an attempt to fight against criminality.
The remarks were sounded yesterday by the Rwenzori East Regional Community Liaisons Officer, SP Luke Mbusa while speaking to our reporter at his office in Kasese town.
SP Mbusa explained that due to cooperation between police and community members, they were able to register minimal criminal cases during the recently concluded Christmas festivities.
He said such cooperation was crucial for the people to live in a crime free society, appealing to the residents to also report to police cases that might look strange to them in their respective communities.
He assured the public of the Uganda Police Force’s commitment to keeping law and order through apprehending and disciplining law breakers and the people involved in criminal activities.
The Community Liaisons Officer thus discouraged the residents from the practice of holding the law into their hands, advising them to be reporting suspected criminals to the relevant authorities.
