His message was delivered to the Civil Servants and Political Leaders from Kasese District Local Government today morning by the Senior Presidential Advisor in-charge of Mobilization, Lt. Col. Kibrai Ambako during their engagement meeting that was held at the District Multipurpose Hall in Kasese Town.

Lt. Col. Ambako who is also attached to the Secretariat of RDCs at the Ministry of Presidency, had also come to the district to interact with the District Leaders including Town Clerks, Sub-county Chiefs, RDCs and the District Executive Committee.

He noted that the President acknowledges the positive efforts put in place by the Civil Servants in implementing the lawful resolutions of their Local Government Councils. He, however, said the Civil Servants had not played much in sensitizing the masses about some important programmes that are aimed at poverty elevation from the communities.

According to him, it was the role of the Civil Servants to popularize government programmes like the Parish Development Model, Emyooga, Youth Livelihood and Free Education among others so that they are appreciated by the people.

The Retired UPDF Officer also told the participants that the President was not happy with the reports of theft of drugs in health facilities, imploring them to empower the communities to participate in guarding such investments through continuous reporting of suspicious incidents.

The Kasese District Chairperson, Eliphaz Muhindi Bukombi, told the Senior Presidential Advisor to report to the government that the leaders in Kasese were committed in championing the fight against corruption because they would want to realize value for the money.

The Kasese District Chief Administrative Officer, Edward Kasagara, noted that Kasese’s development was growing because the Civil Servants jointly conduct supervision and monitoring with the politicians.

The Kasese RDC, Lt. Joe Walusimbi, assured the government that they were committed to ensuring that development flourishes in the district due to the good leadership.
