Preparations for the South Rwenzori Diocesan Convention in high gear

Preparations are in high gear ahead of the 2024 South Rwenzori Diocesan Convention.

Slated from November 13 to 17 at St. Paul’s Cathedral Grounds, the Convention that has been organized under the theme, “Conforming to the truth of God’s word for transformation as scripted in the Biblical Book of Romans 12:1-2 with Rt. Rev. Prof. Alfred Olwa, the Bishop of Lango Diocese as the Main Speaker.

Speaking to our reporter today morning at his office, the South Rwenzori Diocesan Director of Missions and Evangelism, Rev. William Muhindo Musisi explained that they expect to host over 10,000 people, appealing to the Christians to understand the aims and objectives of such a big event.

According to him, they are working closely with the security operatives to have the function secured from people with ill intentions.

He also says that some of the Guest Speakers including Rev. Can. Capt. Mary from the Diocese of Kenya and Rev. Simon Peter Ddembe Lya Yesu, the Director of Missions and Outreach at the Province of the Church of Uganda have started arriving in the Diocese ready for the function.

Rev. Janakaison Thembo Murabyo, the Assistant Director of Missions and Evangelism in South Rwenzori Diocese, used the same platform to call upon the youth to attend the convention with a purpose.

Rev. Betty Mbambu Mwero, the Diocesan Mothers’ Union Coordinator told our reporter that the members of the union were more than ready for the convention.
