Politicians discouraged from using hate speech

Politicians in Kasese district have been discouraged from using hate speech as the 2026 General Elections draw near.

The discouragement was made yesterday by the General Overseer for the Full Gospel Churches of Uganda, Rev. Paul Patton Kinatama while speaking during the Jesus Harvest Conference that is ongoing at Asamu Model Secondary in Kasese town.

The conference that has attracted all Full Gospel Churches in Kasese district is under the theme, “Living a New Covenant Lif.”

Rev. Kinatama observed the need for the politicians to live harmoniously without injuring one another through the use of hate speech while practicing their politics.

Rev. James Hakiiza, one of the facilitators at the conference, asked the community members to embrace peace, unity and cooperation as they only tools that could to the realization of a stable community.

Rev. Eric Masereka Lumika, the Overseer of Kasese East Region for the Full Gospel Churches of Uganda revealed that the conference was open to all the people from the different religious denominations, adding that the Full Gospel Church was a member of the Inter-religious Council of Uganda, an umbrella body that brings together all religions in Uganda.
