The Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Prime Minister has applauded the Obudingiya Bwa Bwamba for preserving culture, strengthening community bonds and promoting a peaceful development.
Rt. Hon. Benson Kule Baritazale made the remarks on Friday at the 11th coronation anniversary of the Obudingiya, His Majesty Lt. Col. (rtd) Martin Ayongi Kamya.
Rt. Hon. Baritazale told the gathering that Omusinga Charles Wisely Mumbere Iremangoma also extended his special thanks to Omudingiya and his people and rejoiced with him as he reflected on his achievements and envision the path ahead.
Rt. Hon. Baritazale described Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu and Obudingiya Bwa Bwamba as institutions bound by blood, history and purpose.
He added that the Bamba elders played an instrumental role in their cultural rituals especially in conducting circumcision ceremonies that affirmed identity and heritage.
The Prime Minister also said that the two institutions’ liberation journey was shared with legendary names such as Isaya Mukirania, Yeremia Kawamara, the Omudingiya’s father and Peter Mupalya standing tall as icons of a joint struggle for dignity and recognition, adding it was from the above background that those deep roots had grown two sister cultural institutions anchored in unity and a shared destiny. The Kingdom’s Premier was happy to note that the sister kingdoms had collaborated in many ways including intermarriages and continuity to share values and aspirations as they honored the special day in the Omudingiya’s reign. More
He, however, asked them to renew their commitment to strengthening their cooperation and uplift their communities guided the by the five pillars that shaped the vision including peace, unity, reconciliation, mindset change, social – cultural and economic transformation.
He proposed that the two Prime Ministers of the sister kingdoms should begin preparations for a summit of their principles as well as the two Kings to consolidate their bonds of solidarity and foster collaboration for the good of their people and the posterity.
