NUP welcomes more other members from FDC and NRM

The opposition National Unity Platform-NUP political party has welcomed at least ten new members from both the ruling National Resistance Movement-NRM and the Forum for Democratic Change-FDC.

The new members include Mr. Joseph Buliro Kule, the District Councilor representing Rukoki sub county who announced his defection from the FDC yesterday evening at Buhaghura Catholic Church in Buhaghura II Village of Rukoki sub-county.

The others are Zonus Thembo and Goreth Mbambu among others cited factionalism and corruption in their former political parties as the driver for seeking a new political home.

Ms Kathembo Kamama Fatuma, a senior member of the NUP who received then new members on behalf of the party emphasized the need for them to bring new energies and mobilize for the largest opposition party so as to oust the ruling NRM party.

Mr Jackson Mbaju Kathika, the NUP Regional Coordinator notes that the opposition parties must work together to gain enough momentum if they are unseat the ruling party.
