The Election Management Committee (EMC) of the National Unity Platform (NUP) has released names of the people who have been given party flags to contest for the positions of Members of Parliament in Kasese District in the forthcoming 2026 General Elections.

The Election Management Committee conducted interviews and vetting for those seeking flags for the parliamentary seats two weeks ago at the party headquarters in Kampala and the results have since been officially published via various social media platforms.

The Kasese NUP Registrar, Charles Kule Kabwemi told the press today morning that they had been notified about the successful flag bearers who are now ready to be nominated by the Electoral Commission to participate in the General Elections.

He revealed that the party flags were given to Jackson Mbaju Kathika for Busongora County South against Isaac Mumbere Njiwenewene.

In Bukonzo County West, Shaida Muhindo was given the party flag against Jockus Yambuka while in Bukonzo County East, Claus Bwambale was given the flag against Amon Philly Kahungu.

In Kasese Municipality, the party flag was handed over to Robert Asingya Muthoma against Sam Baluku.

Joneni Bwambale Bamwenda for Busongora County North and Fatuma Kamama for Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament obtained the party flags unopposed.

Bryans Basisa, the Kasese District NUP Chairperson who also doubles as the Chairperson for the Rwenzori Sub-region, appealed to the party members especially those who didn’t get the party flags to remain loyal and support the official flag bearers because they value their contributions towards changing the country’s current leadership.

Claus Bwambale, who has been given the party flag for Bukonzo County East, pledged that once elected to the August House, he would lobby for improved health services, education and socio-economic empowerment and coupled with making an effective representation.

Benard Kisembo, a member of the party who is seeking election for the position of Municipal Councilor representing Nyakasanga I Ward, congratulated the successful candidates, noting that they would accord them the due support so that they lead their respective flags to victory.
