Newly appointed OBR Prime Minister assumes office

Former Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. Joseph Kule Muranga has officially handed over office to his successor, the Rt. Hon. Benson Kule Baritazale.

The handover function took place this evening at Virina Gardens in Kasese town and was attended by the Kingdom’s Cabinet Ministers and members of the Privy Council.

Muranga who was appointed by the Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Irema-ngoma in 2020 indicated in his handover speech that during his tenure, he pleaded the Central Government for the release of the King and the subjects he had been incarcerated with.

He encouraged his successor to abide by the Constitution of Uganda and that of the Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu for its development.

He, however, appealed to the new Prime Minister to make follow-ups on the outstanding Presidential Pledges and the vehicles that are still parked at Kasese Central Police Station.

In his maiden speech, the newly appointed Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Benson Kule Muranga applauded his predecessor for having been instrumental in the rebranding process of Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu.

He pledged to build on the foundation laid by Rt. Hon. Muranga to promote the five pillars in the rebranding process.

In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Noah Nzaghale, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, requested Muranga’s children to emulate the good character of their father through having passion for the Kingdom. ENDS
