Mr. Tom Tumwanze, one of the people who were vying for the NRM flag for the position of Member of Parliament representing Busongora County South in Kasese district has observed the need for Civic Education among the electorate.
Mr. Tumwanze sounded the observation yesterday morning in an exclusive interview with Messiah Radio in Kasese town.
He revealed that he was shock after witnessing that the recently concluded NRM party primary elections for the Members of Parliament registered a low voter turn-up especially in the mountainous areas where some people of voting age shunned the exercise.
He thus cited the need for the government to embark on giving people civic education as a means of reinstating the allegedly deteriorating democratic values.
He lashed at some residents for deliberately declining to participate in the exercise of electing their own leaders but at the end complain against the already elected leaders, advising the people to always be part of those who personally choose leaders of their choice.
He, however, pledged support the already elected party flag bearers.
