Mawa market Vendors ask for roof shades

Vendors in Kisanga Market locally known as Mawa Market have asked the government to construct roof shades and permanent stalls in the area in order to save them from the harsh weather and the losses incurred during the rainy season.

 The vendors sounded the remarks yesterday while speaking to our reporter in an exclusive interview at their place of work.

Safina Biira, one of the market vendors dealing in the sale of vegetables, revealed that for a long period of time, they had been facing a challenge of harsh weather characterized by heavy downpours and scorching sunshine that do not only damage their goods but also act as a health risk to their lives.

Biira believes that if the government considers constructing for the roof shades and permanent stalls, it would create order among the vendors since specific areas would be allocated to them for easy management and access.

Trypine Kabugho, another vendor dealing in the sale of fruits, descried the persistent losses caused by water runoffs hence calling on the government to use part of the money got from their taxes to construct
