A man in his early 30’s today morning being lynched by an angry mob in Kidodo Cell of the Central Division in Kasese Municipality on allegations of stealing two turkeys and a duck.
Bashir Bwambale, the General Secretary for Kidodo Cell who is also in-charge of Publicity identified the suspect as Robert Syamutsangira, a resident in the same area.
According to Mr. Bwambale, the local leaders and residents were tipped off by a concerned citizen following a report indicating that Ms Hadja Biira had lost her duck three weeks ago.
He explained that for long, they had been suspecting Syamutsangira to be among the thieves terrorizing the residents.
He revealed that Kidodo Cell has become a hub for the thieves who according to him hail from others areas including Kitooro, Basecamp, and Kizungu after being chased by the leaders of said places.
Bwambale called for cooperation between the residents and leaders as they launch their operations aimed at crackdown suspected thieves.
By press time, police had swung into action to rescue Syamutsangira from being lynched by an angry mob.
