The Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Florence Kabugho has officially opened another skilling centre in Busongora County South with an aim of skilling young mothers and school dropouts.
Located at Mithibiri Trading Centre in Muhokya Sub-county, the skilling centre which was opened yesterday becomes the fourth after Kabatunda in Busongora County North, Kyondo in Bukonzo County East and Karambi in Bukonzo County West.
The Muthibiri Skilling Centre will be offering a number of courses including hair dressing and tailoring among others for the benefit of 10 sub-counties of Muhokya, Kitabu, Nyakabingo, Kilembe, Rukoki and Muhokya Town Council among others.
Speaking during the official launch of the centre, Mr. Henry Isambiro, the Local Council I Chairperson for Kyambogho village and Batrumagho Rwakyapa, a Councilor representing Kalhamya Parish to Kahokya Sub-county Council commended the Office of the Member of Parliament for the development.
They pledged to mobilize the youth to embrace the facility as one way of solving the challenge of unemployment through the acquisition of skills.
Mr. Aganatius Kyadibire, the Muhokya Sub-county FDC Chairperson and Emmy Bakengana, the party General Secretary for the Sub-county hailed the Member of Parliament for establishing the skilling centre that would help to eradicate cases related to domestic violence.
In her speech, Hon. Florence Kabugho said the skilling center was meant to equip both boys and girls in tailoring and saloon management.
The legislator also revealed that she would include metal fabrication among courses offered at the skilling centres.
