BY JOACKIM KULE

Kasese District Chairperson Mr. Eliphaz Muhindi Bukombi has appealed to teachers to establish new and simple methodologies to enable them easily transfer knowledge to their learners.

Mr. Muhindi says much as Kasese district registered an improvement in the performance of learners at both primary and secondary levels of performance, the number of failures was still big.

He argues that it is important for the district to completely eliminate candidates who do perform to enable them qualify for the next academic level.

He was on Saturday addressing teachers who had attended a six-day workshop that was organized by the Education for Development under Teaching at the Right Level program (TARL) that was held at Bwera Primary Teachers’ College premises in Mpondwe –Lhubiriha Town Council.

Education for Development supports government through the Ministry of Education Sports to train teachers as mentors or instructors how they can help slow learners to move at the same pace with other learners.

Muhindi noted that through TARL, the teachers would eliminate failures from their schools.

Mr. Selevest Baluku, the Senior Inspector of Schools for Kasese District Local Government asked the participant teachers to put into practice all the skills that they attained so that they can produce good results.

Bony Karoli Mukwenda, the Head teacher Motomoto Primary School in Kitswamba sub- County, pledged that the knowledge acquired was essential in their career.
