Residents in Kasese district have been called upon to strengthen their relationship with the security operatives as one way of curtailing the rising cases of criminality from the communities.
The call was sounded today afternoon by SP Ramadan Tai, the Bwera Divisional Police Commander while addressing the mourners at the burial of the Late Gerald Bwambale who was gunned by yet unknown assailants in Kyogha II village, Bwera Sub-county in Kasese district.
On June 03, 2025, Bwambale (now deceased) who was the Local Council II Chairperson for Kyogha Parish was attacked by yet to be known gunmen that raided his home at around 3:00am, shooting him instantly.
He was rushed to Kagando hospital by his family members from where he was pronounced dead later in the day.
It was incumbent upon this background that SP Tai called upon the people in the district to strengthen their relationships with the security operatives through providing any kinds of information that might be linked to the criminal tendencies.
Similarly, Brigadier General Cyril Muhindo Mawa conquered him the DPC’s statements and assured the residents that security personnel would work tooth and nail to have the culprits involved in Bwambale’s shooting arrested and prosecuted.
He issued a stern warning to the people against the act of involving themselves in heinous acts like terrorism, adding that such behaviour is likely to lead them to life imprisonment.
Meanwhile, Lt. Maate Magwara, the Kasese Deputy RDC in-charge of Bukonzo County discouraged the community members against pinpointing and blaming security operatives, stating that they were embarking on investigations to get a gist of the matter.
