Kasese NUP supporters urged to observe discipline and kindness

BY JOACKIM KULE

Members of the National Unity Platform in Kasese district have been encouraged to maintain and observe a high level of integrity as they mobilize support for the party ahead of the 2026 general elections.

The encouragement was sounded today by Mr. Joneni Bwambale Bamwenda, the Busongora County North Parliamentary hopeful while  ushering in 16 people who had defected from the ruling NRM and Forum for Democratic Change parties to NUP.

The defectors who are residents of Busongora County North were officially welcomed today morning at the NUP offices in Kasese town.

Mr. Bamwenda told the defectors that the party they had joined believes in truth and democracy.

He encouraged the new members not to go by the rumours from the party’s opponents who claim that the party was full of drunkenness, adding that Mr. Robert Kyagulanyi has a vision of developing Uganda once he becomes President.

Mr. Bryans Basisa, the Kasese District NUP Chairperson, told the defectors to stand firm and avoid intimations from people subscribing to other political parties.

The defectors pledged total allegiance to the party principles as well as advocating for change in the forthcoming elections.
