Kasese NRM members urged to create a ground for the party to win general elections

Mr. Yofesi Douglas Saturday Madaraka, a former candidate in the NRM primary elections for the position of Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament has appealed to the party members to create a ground for the ruling party to win the General Elections.

On July 17, 2025, the NRM party went to the polls to choose the flag bearers for the positions of constituency Member of Parliament and District Woman Member of Parliament.

In Kasese Municipality, the flag was retained by Hon. Ferigo Kambale.

Addressing the press today afternoon at Virina Gardens in Kasese town, Mr. Madaraka who said the elections were free and fair hailed the voters to entrusting him with the votes despite being less than that of the winner.

According to him, before going to the NRM Tally Room that had been established at Rwenzori International Hotel in Kasese town, their private tally centres had shown to them the winner of the flag, a reason why he implored his supporters to rally behind the flag bearers in order for the party to realize victory in the forthcoming General Elections.

Asked why he was overexcited when the District Registrar declared by the flag bearer, Madaraka revealed that it was because the justice which had been delayed was finally served.

He appealed to his fellow former candidates not to contestant as independent candidates claiming that the election results were manipulated, adding that they should only aim at ensuring that the party flag bearers including President Museveni realize victory in the forthcoming General Elections.
