Kasese High Court sets tomorrow for assessing evidences about two cases of aggravated defilement

High Court sitting in Kasese has scheduled tomorrow Friday March 28 as the day on which it will assess the evidences about two cases of aggravated defilement.

The cases involve that of Mr. Jerudi Maate in is 50s, a resident of Rugendabara- Kikongo Town Council who is accused of allegedly defiling a three-year-old baby girl and Mr. Fidel Bwambale, a resident of Bwera Sub-county who is also accused of allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.

Court presided over by Hon. Justice David Makumbi heard that on June 10, 2023 while at Rugendabara; Mr. Maate allegedly defiled a three-year toddler  when her mother had just gone to buy food from a nearby town.

It is alleged that when the mother returned, she found the child crying and observed semen in the child’s private parts.

Why asked he was found holding the child, Mr. Maate denied the defilement allegations saying he was only holding the baby to rescue her from being knocked since she was trying to cross the road.

For the case of Mr. Fidel Bwambale who is in his 30s, Court was told that he grabbed the victim aged 13 and took her to his bedroom. During the process, his wife surfaced and locked the two in the house.

Court adjourned the cases to tomorrow for the assessors to give in their findings before judgments are delivered.
