The Kasese District Chairperson for the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has applauded the community members for working closely with the security operatives to contain the situation that had been worsened by armed assailants with pangas which attacked security installations in the district.
On Saturday morning, a section of people armed with pangas and catapults attacked the police barracks in Kasese town and a police post in Rugendabara –Kikongo Town Council, leaving six police officers injured.
Security operatives also successfully put out of action 19 attackers who are still lying at the mortuary.
Ronald Bwambale Kabuku, who addressed the press today morning at his office in Kasese town, said that the residents’ cooperation with the security agencies facilitated a successful operation against the attackers.
Kabuku encouraged the people to always work with security whenever they identify any suspicious activities done by the people in their respective communities.
He was also thankful to the security forces for their quick response on the attackers before causing havoc.
Kabuku, however, called for thorough investigations into the matter so that the root cause is identified and its efforts are frustrated.
