Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) offices in Kasese town today morning received a section of party supporters who had accompanied their respective candidates for nominations on the various political positions.
Currently, the party is nominating candidates for the positions of Member of Parliament, Municipal Mayor and L.C V Chairperson. The exercise that started today morning will end tomorrow evening.
Mr. Ronald Bwambale Kabuku, the District party Chairperson told the press that the exercise started peacefully with at least 06 people dully nominated for the position of Member of Parliament, 01 person for the L.C V Chairperson and another one for the position of the Municipal Mayor.
However, Kabuku encouraged the legible vetters to consider giving flags to the people after consulting the local party members from the grass root about their ability to succeed in the general elections.
Mr. Misairi Thembo Kahungu who was dully nominated for the position of Member of Parliament representing Bukonzo County East told the press that he would effectively represent the electorate through advocating for the establishment of cultural tourism, museum and recreational centres in Kisinga Town Council.
He also revealed that he would put in place measures aimed at eliminating deaths caused by floods through the establishment of special centres to host the people from the disaster prone areas during the rainy seasons.
Other people who were nominated for the position of Member of Parliament included Mr. Aloysius Baguma Kighema for Busongora County South, Benson Zaake for Bukonzo County West, Erikana Baluku Ndyoka for Bukonzo County East, Godfrey Atkins Katusabe for Bukonzo County West, Selevest Masereka alias Caritas for Bukonzo County East and Kenneth Kabagambe for Kasese Municipality.
They all pledged to work for the effective service delivery to their electorate once handed the flags.
Mr. Abdul Saad Thembo, the Chairperson for Maliba Town Council was nominated for the position of District Chairperson. He revealed that he would work towards fighting corruption in the District Service Commission.
The Kasese Municipality Mayor, Chance Kahindo was nominated for the same position. ENDS
