The Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner in-charge of Bukonzo County has directed the Inspectors of Schools to strengthen their inspections in both private and government grant-aided schools in order to assess the quality of services being offered to the learners across the entire district.
Lt. (Rtd) Maate Magwara explains that the inspections would enable them to either discover the strengths and challenges that might affect the educational standards in the district.
Magwara notes that he wants the district to realize improved levels of education that motivate the young people to keep in schools and complete their studies.
According to Magwara, Kasese has employed enough inspectors to cause an improvement in schools through making assessments and submitting in the progress and challenging aspects to the government for an onward intervention.
The President’s Representative in the district is also concerned about the manner in which the institutions of learning have realized low enrolments compared to the previous years.
Magwara has since directed theVillage Chairpersons to interest themselves in identifying the parents whose children are still at their homes despite the beginning of first term so that they are arrested and prosecuted for violating the rights of those young ones.
The Mubuku Town Council Chairperson, Joseph Nyamutale, isalso concerned about the overwhelming number of the learners who have allegedly been sighted loitering at some trading and market centres during the school days.
