Kabbyanga reaffirms his interest to become Bukonzo County West MP

Mr. Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga Kiime, the Minister of State in-charge of National Guidance has revealed that he was ready to support whoever might challenge him in the forthcoming NRM party primary elections to represent the people of Bukonzo County West in Parliament.

In 2023, Minister Kabbyanga declared his interest to contest for the parliamentary seat on the NRM ticket after sailing through the party primary elections.

He is expected to compete with the current Chancellor for Makerere University, Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga and others who will have picked interest in the NRM primary elections slated for this year.

Speaking yesterday during the Constituency NRM Women League Conference that was held at Bwera Secondary School in Mpondwe – Lhubiriha Town Council, Kabbyanga said as a party member he was ready to support whoever would be given the flag.

According to him, his vision and mission are to see NRM reclaim the seat.

He stressed that the party was losing various elective positions to the opposition parties in Kasese district because of internal conflicts that erupt immediately after the primary elections.

The junior minister used the same platform to warn his fellow politicians against the use of hate speech and falsification as they country is preparing for the 2025 – 2026 General Elections .

At the same conference, Ms Sadress Masika Kalengyo, the formal parliamentary hopeful for Kasese District Woman Seat declared her exit from active politics but supported the candidature of Minister Kabbyanga.
