Go to the world and make disciples, Bishop Masereka tells Christians

BY JOACKIM KULE

The retired Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Zebedee Kahangwa Masereka has challenged all the people who have received the sacrament of baptism to play a role of mobilizing others so that they too follow the gospel of Christ.

Bishop Masereka sounded the challenge yesterday while preaching to the congregation during a service in which he officiated at the baptism of Princess Ashley Shantale Angel Thusike Kibanzanga, a daughter of the Rwenzururu King (Omusinga) Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma.

Princess Thusike Kibanzanga was baptized at the age of 11.

Bishop Masereka who quoted the biblical book of Mathew 28: 19, implored the baptized persons to go to the world and make their fellows Disciples of Christ through baptizing them in the name of the father, the son and Holy Spirit.

The prelate used the same podium to encourage the Christians to value baptism as the only tool that initiates friendship with Jesus Christ.

In his remarks, Omusinga Charles Wesley Mumbere Iremangoma applauded the Church for supporting the lives of the people with spiritual healing.

He appealed to the Church and the God-parents of Thusike to follow her up and ensure that she grows strong in her journey of faith.
