Mr. Saulo Maate, the former Kasese District FDC Chairperson has appealed to the leaders in the district to present to President Museveni the major challenges affecting the people.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to be in Kasese district on November 30 to officiate at the thanksgiving ceremony of the Minister of State for Trade, Gen. Wilson Mbasu Mbadi and Minister of State in-charge of National Guidance, Hon. Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga Kiime.

The function is expected to be held at Kaguta Grounds in Nyakatonzi Sub-county.  Now, Mr. Maate wants the leaders to present a report to President Museveni highlighting the major challenges including the need to have adequate land for agriculture.

The outspoken former FDC leader told the press at Rwenzori Restaurant in Kasese town today morning that he was disappointed with the same leaders during the recently concluded World Tourism Day that was celebrated in Kasese district for allegedly not reporting to the Head of State the needs of the local population.

This time round, Maate suggests to the elected leaders to also ask the Head of State to allow people utilize Mubuku Forest Reserve Land for agricultural purposes in an attempt to address the challenge of food insecurity in many families.

Mr. Maate reiterates his call to the leaders to also tell the President about the plight of the flood victims encamped at Muhokya whom he says have suffered in the camp for nearly four years without a positive response from government in regard to resettlement.
