Erisa Miramawa Nzighunyingi, a resident of Maliba Sub-county, Busongora County North in Kasese district has described the artificial arms that the Office of the Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese secured for his daughter, Esther Mbambu as a relief to the family.
On September 22, the Office of the Bishop took Mbambu to Mulago hospital to find artificial arms for her that would help her do some personal duties.
This was in fulfillment of a pledge made by Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku on July 05, 2025 when he was in Maliba Sub-county at Omukati trading centre to open up a general merchandise shop for Mbambu so that she is enabled to care for her two children.
In his remarks, Bishop Baluku said he was bitterly hurt seeing a once able hardworking woman being hand-capped at the age her children badly needed her.
It was incumbent upon this background that Mr. Miramawa, the father to Mbambu said the Bishop’s efforts of securing artificial hands for her daughter had become a relief to the entire family.
Mr. Miramawa subsequently condemned the act of domestic violence, asking couples to always seek counselling services than falling victims.
Mbambu, a 36-year -old woman lost her hands om May 20, 2025 when her husband, Hasan Kato forcefully amputated them during a domestic brawl in Nyakasojo Lower, Bulembia Division of Kasese Municipality.
