Dr. Kiyonga hands Kasese NRM office to his successor

Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga, the former Kasese District NRM Chairperson has today officially handed over power to his successor, James Mbahimba, the former Ugandan Ambassador to the DRC.

This was during a meeting held at the Kasese District NRM Head offices situated in the Nyamwamba Division of Kasese Municipality.

In his key note address, Dr. Kiyonga, the Chancellor Makerere University condemned the election irregularities that surfaced during the election of the district NRM leadership including broad day light bribery (corruption) and sectarianism based on regions in the district.

He immediately called upon their successors to address the unfortunate incidents to deficit the democratic morals of the NRM party but also prevent future uncertainties.

He further congratulated the new leadership headed by Mbahimba for emerging winners of the recently concluded NRM party elections, and urged them to build on the efforts they had laid on ground including comprehensive mobilization to ensure that entire district becomes yellow. 

James Mbahimba, the newly elected NRM Chairperson commended Dr. Kiyonga, the outgoing Chairman for his endless efforts to mobilize for the NRM party for close to 40 years, adding that he is a political icon who has mentored many  in Kasese District and the country at large, 

Mbahimba and Mr. Boaz Kafuda, the newly elected NRM Vice Chairperson appealed to Dr. Kiyonga to always support them where necessary looking at his unmatched experience in the NRM leadership.

Johnson Kamalha Kaylasa, the outgoing NRM Publicity Secretary called upon the new Kasese NRM District leadership to sacrifice themselves for the party, work with dedication to ensure that it reaches higher heights. ENDS
