Rev. Wilson Buhaka attached to Kilembe Parish has asked couples to desist from the acts of domestic violence if they want to raise responsible children.
Rev. Buhaka made the remarks over the weekend in an interview with our reporter at Namuhuga Kilembe Mines Primary School in Kasese Town where he was the Chief Guest at the dedication service of Primary Seven Candidates and graduation of Top-class pupils.
He explained that domestic violence does not only affect children psychologically but also affects their academic performance.
The man of God tipped couples to always amicably resolve their differences and to desist from confrontations especially in the presence of their children.
Rev. Buhaka used the same platform to encourage parents whose children are sitting for Primary Leaving Examinations today, to prepare them for secondary education.
He noted that despite the need for parents to train their children about doing home chores, there should be consideration that education does not end at primary level.
While delivering his report, the Head teacher at Namuhuga Kilembe Mines School Mr. Robert Bamwega Mbusa noted that some parents have developed a tendency to default on school fees and eventually shift their school-going children to other schools.
He also made a passionate appeal to parents to be more vigilant and take parenting more seriously since the world is now soaked in drug abuse and pornographic content especially on social media.
