Church leasers in South Rwenzori Diocese encouraged to embrace the idea of carrying out charity works and alms giving to the needy

Church leaders in South Rwenzori Diocese have been encouraged to embrace the idea of carrying out charity works and alms giving to the needy Christians as part of their mission and evangelism activities.

The encouragement was sounded yesterday afternoon by the Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku while addressing the Christians at All Saints Kighando Church of Uganda Parish in Bwera Archdeaconry.

His encouragement followed a report that was read to him by the Parish Vicar, the Rev. Misaki Baluku who reported to the Prelate that they supplied 45 mattresses and fed over 40 needy families during the previous Easter celebrations.

Subsequently, Bishop Baluku commended the Vicar and the entire Christins for the generosity, adding that the practice of reaching out to the needy does not only depict the acts of Jesus Christ but also a way of evangelism.

He was optimistic that the Diocese was also practicing the same, revealing that he was yet to secure artificial arms for Esther Mbambu who was brutally amputated by her husband in Nyakasojo Lower Cell, Kasese Municipality.

During the service, the Bishop confirmed 75 Christians into the Anglican faith with a call on them to indulge in acts that pave way for them to enter the Kingdom of heaven as scripted in the Biblical Book of Corinthains 01:11. ENDS
