The outgoing Central Division Chairperson in Kasese Municipality has prayed to the leaders who are yet to assume office and a section of the council members to ensure continuity of the programs that his council had initiated to promote formal educational standards within the urban centre.
Martin Safari sounded the remarks on Tuesday while officiating at a function in which council was distributing mattresses to the children who passed well in the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations and the best Head teachers who had many children pass in Division I.
The division council rewarded learners from only seven government grant-aided primary schools including Kamaiba, Railway, Kasese SDA, and Base camp, Molongoti, Kirembe and Kasese Primary schools.
Safari noted that council through his guidance, initiated programs meant for motivating learners with mathematical sets when they are sitting for the Primary Leaving Examinations (P.L.E) and also rewarding them for their excellence after the release of the results.
He called on the political leaders who are yet to be sworn-in for the positions that they recently attained to put in more efforts towards the sustainability of the programs that he had established.
He also appealed to the government to expedite the process of enhancing the teachers’ salaries so that they are motivated to teach the learners and ensure good performances.
GadaffiNtolyo, the Treasurer for the Central Division requested the public to always pay revenue for council to budget for such projects for the benefit of the learners and Head teachers.
Mr. Dan Benon Masereka, the Head Teacher at Kamaiba Primary School, who was personallyrewarded for the excellent performance of the 2025 candidates, pledged his commitment to serving the population of Kasese.
