The family of Late Paddy Kwiratwiwe Kyeya Kabagambe has officially handed a health center in Kithoma-Kanyatsi Town Council to South Rwenzori Diocese.
Paddy Kabagambe Memorial Community health center is situated along Karambi-Kitholhu road at Isango trading center a few meters from Isango Bridge.
Mary Kabagambe, the deceased’s wife told the gathering yesterday at the health center premises that the donation to South Rwenzori Diocese was in loving memory of her late husband’s legacy and generosity.
Kabagambe was born in 1946 to Mr. Ezron and Mrs. Evasta Kabatoro at Kakindo in present-day Kithoma-Kanyatsi Town Council. He died on November 07, 2020 after grappling with multiple organ failure.
The Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku, South Rwenzori Diocesan Bishop received the facility on behalf of the diocese and pledged to uplift the facility’s standards.
Juliet Masika, the Assistant Nursing Officer at the facility told Messiah Radio that the facility receives more than 150 patients with malaria, diarrhea, respiratory tract infections, conjunctivitis [obulhwere obwa meso] and skin infections as the commonly reported diseases.
Now, Bishop Baluku assured Kabagambe’s family and the area leadership that he is going to lobby for more support for the facility.
Mary Masika, a resident of Isango cell and Milton Mbwarara, the LC3 chairperson for Kithoma-Kanyatsi town council welcomed South Rwenzori Diocese as the new managers of the facility.
Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga, the chancellor Makerere University who also witnessed the hand-over of the facility reiterated his call to the parents to prioritize proper feeding of children on millet and exclusive breastfeeding for those below six months.
