The Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku has discouraged the people of Kasese district from the unnecessary opposition of government programmes.
The Prelate sounded the discouragement today while preaching to hundreds of Christians who had thronged Kanyatsi Church of Uganda Parish where he had gone to confirm 200 Christians into the Anglican faith.
The confirmants were drawn from a number of parishes including Kanyatsi, Ikobero, Kisebere and Ibwelyakyona in Kitholhu Archdeaconry.
The Prelate revealed that some people tend to criticize government’s development programmes and proposals at their initial stages but later claim responsibility after their success.
The Man of God encouraged the people to change from their persistent opposition of such programmes and mindset so that they embrace them in order to earn a living.
He also challenged men to think ahead and plan for the future that he predicted to be tougher, lashing at those who wake up early in the morning and immediately rush to the trading centres to drink alcohol, an act he said would make them remain poor.
Quoting the Biblical Book of John 21:1 -14, the Bishop warned Christians against being in a wrong company of people who might lure them into sinful acts.
