Bishop Baluku condemns acts of laziness among Christians

BY MATHIUS KAHUNGU

The Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese has condemned acts of laziness among a section of Christians.

The Bishop sounded the remarks today afternoon while preaching to the congregation at St. Mark Kighuthu Church of Uganda Parish in Bwera Archdeaconry.

The prelate revealed that revealed that he would love seeing socio-economic transformation among the Christians through using the prevailing peace and existing fertile soils to create wealth.

According to him, he feels betrayed by people who still waste much of their time in making political rumours than using the little resources to make money.

Preaching under the theme, “Jesus Cares for the Whole Person,” and quoting the Biblical Book of Mathew 15: 29-38, the Bishop asked the people to start using the little pieces of land and capital that they have, arguing that Jesus Christ cannot bless them when they have nothing.

In his report read to the Bishop, Rev. Amos Sikahwa, the Vicar at Kighuthu Parish disclosed that some Christians were grappling with multiple loans borrowed from some financial institutions hence leading to poverty and domestic violence.

Responding to the Vicar’s remarks, the prelate discouraged the businessmen and women and the farmers from making extravagant expenditures, an act that he attributed to the collapse of most business ventures. ENDS
