South Rwenzori Diocese has yesterday donated another batch of new brand motorcycles to five parishes with an aim of improving the means of transport for the Vicars.
Today’s donation that was given to the parishes of Kyanjuki, Kajwenge, Muzahura, Kitswamba and Nyabisusi makes a total of 51 motorcycles that the Diocese has been able to supply to a number of parishes that comprise South Rwenzori.
Handing over the motorcycles to the beneficiaries at a function that was held at Kamaiba Youth Centre in Kasese town, Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku, the Diocesan Bishop, asked the Parish Vicars to use the donation in extending church services to the community members.
The Prelate also explained that the donation would help the Parish Vicars move to different places within their areas of jurisdiction to spread the Word of God for the spiritual transformation of the communities that they serve.
The Man of God appealed to the benefiting Vicars to take good care of the donated motorcycles so that they continue serving the purpose for which they were meant.
Rev. Can. Nelson Walina, the Diocesan Secretary said he was happy that the Office of the Bishop has been able to provide means of transport to the Church Ministers so that they ably do the work for which they were ordained.
Some of the beneficiaries pledged to use the motorcycles to extend good news of Jesus Christ to all the people.
