The Executive Director Kagando Rural Development Centre-KARUDEC has emphasised the need for employees in Uganda and Kasese particularly to prioritize planning for their retirement.
Rev Canon Dr Uziah Kiriaghe says that many people tend to forget that whatever job opportunities they possess today are only temporary and at a given time they will either lose the jobs or even retire.
He reiterates that it is important that people in employment are mindful of that bitter reality and therefore ought to not only envision what kind of life they will lead in retirement but also prepare for it.
The man of God made the remarks yesterday during the thanksgiving service in which Canon Jane Janet, the first female Anglican priest in South Rwenzori Diocese, was expressing her gratitude to God for the gift of life and the wealth genuinely amassed.
Canon Jane Janet not only made 76 years of age yesterday but also prayed for her newly constructed residential house in Kinyamaseke Town Council.
Canon Uziah Kiriaghe argued that it is through faithful service to people and God and proper planning that the woman of God has been in position to achieve the milestones that were celebrated yesterday.
Meanwhile, Canon Jane Janet urged Christian and the entire human race to express love to all people despite their various differences.
Canon Janet added that the love for God among Christians can only be reflected in love for one another.
