There was excitement today morning at the Kasese Chief Magistrate’s Court as the relatives of the suspects of the November 01, 2025 coordinated attacks on military installations in the Rwenzori Sub-region saw their people appear in court via zoom.
The suspects last appeared physically in court on November 23. 2025 and were charged with treason, murder attempted murder, aggravated robbery, terrorism financing and trafficking in humans among others. They were then remanded to prison.
Today morning, Josephine Biira alias Nyabahasa and 101 other co-accused persons, appeared in court in court via zoom to mention the charges preferred against them following a production warrant that was issued on February 25, 2026 by the Kasese Chief Magistrate, His Worship George Mfitundinda after the State had declined to produce the accused persons in court.
The relatives who were present in court were granted a chance to wave and slightly interact with their people, hence creating excitement among them.
The suspects who had been held incommunicado in prison today had an opportunity to talk to their relatives and Lawyers.
Dickson Mbusa, one of the accused persons, who was represented by Counsel Luke Kanyonyi from Kanyonyi and Co. Advocates told court that his life was deteriorating in prison because he was due for surgery by the time he was arrested.
He prayed that court should order the prison authorities to take him for diagnosis and treatment.
