“Prioritize profitable businesses”, Bishop Baluku tell Christians in Kasese

BY MATHIUS KAHUNGU

Christians in South Rwenzori Diocese have been challenged to always first put into consideration the profitability of the businesses that they would like to invest in their efforts and resources.

The challenge was sounded today afternoon by the Diocesan Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku, while preaching to the congregation that had throned Ngome Church of Uganda Parish in Kisinga Archdeaconry for a confirmation service that left 52 Christians confirmed into the Anglican faith.

The Prelate explained that it would be a good practice for the believers in Christ to always be considerate of the profits associated with the business ventures that they might like to establish before investing in them.

According to him, many people find themselves in losses resulting from poor business calculations.

He also warned the businessmen and women against the practice of making extravagant expenditures, highlighting alcohol consumption as a major factor that leads to the collapse of many businesses.

On his part, Ven. Anasanairi Masereka Mutsumbiri, the Kisinga Archdeacon underscored the need for the Christians to intensify the fight against food insecurity through the growing of cassava in plenty and cutting down all banana plantations that might have been affected by some diseases.

In a parish report that was read to the Bishop by William Kimera, who represented the bedridden Head of Laity, Living Kasighalire, decried the challenge of water scarcity that is blamed for the existence for the prevalence of waterborne diseases including typhoid in the area.
