Religious denominations have been asked to embrace unity and jointly combine efforts to preach the message of salvation.
The remarks were sounded yesterday by the parish vicar for All Saints Mubuku Church of Uganda parish Rev. Guslain Kambale Muli during a joint service that was also attended by a section of Roman Catholic faith believers from St. Gonzaga Gonza Catholic Church-Mubuku in Hima parish.
The joint service was meant to initiate a friendship between the two neighboring places of worship.
Rev. Muli observed that Christian believers need to be exemplary in fulfilling and abiding to God’s commandment of loving one’s neighbor as they love themselves so as to inspire the non-believers to embracing Christianity.
Rev. Fr. Thomas Tusingwire the chaplain for Mubuku Valley secondary school who led the Roman Catholic delegation to the service expressed gratitude to the parish vicar for the initiative and challenged Christians all over the world to embrace ecumenism.
Meanwhile Ms. Beatrice Kajumba Lyahinda observed that lately Christians have been involved in rumour mongering which she said only sows seeds of hatred among the lay faithful.
