Ms Sarah Kabbegesa Mulembe, one of the NRM members vying for the party flag to represent the people of Bukonzo County East in the 12th Parliament of Uganda has refuted rumours in circulation indicating that she had dropped out of the race.
Mulembe who made a press statement yesterday afternoon while addressing her supporters who had attended her political drive rally at Kiburara trading centre in Kisinga sub-county that she had been dully nominated by the party Electoral Commission to participate in the next month’s primary elections.
Mulembe revealed that if elected to represent the electorate in Bukonzo County East, she would address the issue of socio-economic transformation among the community members through encouraging them to embrace commercial farming.
Silver Akankwasa, the Nyakatonzi Sub-county District Councilor hopeful revealed that the issue of commercial farming requires people to first address the challenge of land wrangles, arguing that they were among the factors leading to low food production.
Some of the residents were seen praying for the candidate with a call on all politicians to embrace peaceful elections.
