Kasese FDC closes nominations for LCV and MPs

The Forum for Democratic Change in Kasese District has nominated 100% of the people who picked expression of interest forms for the positions of Members of Parliament, LCV and Municipal Mayor.

The District party Chairperson, Mr. Ronald Bwambale Kabuku says by the end of the working hours today, they had dully nominated 6 candidates for Bukonzo County West, 05 for Bukonzo East, 01 for Busongora South, 01 for Busongora North and 02 for Kasese Municipality.

For the District Woman Member of Parliament, 02 people were nominated while 03 were nominated for the District Chairman and 02 for the Municipal Mayoral position.

According to Kabuku, all the nominees satisfied the party’s electoral commission with the necessary requirements to hold consultative meetings ahead of the vetting exercise.

Speaking to the press shortly after the being nominated by the party, the Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament, Florence Kabugho noted that she was seeking re-election so that she adds on more achievements to what she had already done for the people of Kasese.

Mr. Patrick Muhindo Kyamanduma who was nominated for Bukonzo County West Parliamentary seat, he would ensure that the roads and other infrastructure in the constituency are modernized.

Mr. Geoffrey Sibendire Thembo Bigogo who was nominated on the position of District Chairperson told the press that he would reunite the people in the entire district so that they work together in developing their communities and Kasese at large.

However, candidates for the positions of district councilors are still being nominated until Thursday.

Meanwhile, Dr. Julius Monday Bwambale Rude, one of the vying for the NRM party flag to represent the electorate of Bukonzo County East has been fully nominated at the party headquarters in Kyadongo, Kampala.

Addressing the press shortly after the exercise, Dr. Rude pledged that if elected, he would address the issue of poor infrastructure in the constituency. He also mentioned other challenges including the lack of electricity, safe and clean drinking water among others that he would focus on.

Other politicians who were nominated today included Mr. Robert Asingya Muthoma who is vying for the Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament on the NUP ticket, who asked his fellow politicians to observe total respect and discipline for one another while soliciting for votes.

Mr. Isaac Mumbere was also nominated for the position of Busongora County South Member of Parliament on the NUP ticket.

Speaking to the press, Mumbere said it was the right time to elect the youth into the different political offices, adding that they were still energetic and active to deliver effective services to the community members.
