Kasese RDC declines to hand 10 million to the administration of Muhokya P/S

BY JOACKIM KULE MUHESI

The Kasese Resident District Commissioner today morning aggressively declined to hand over a cash donation from the NRM Secretariat to administration of Muhokya Primary School in Muhokya Town Council, citing lack of quorum by the witnesses.

During the Busongora County South by-election, the NRM party pledged to donate shillings 10 million to facilitate the renovation works of the school’s main hall.

Lt. Joe Walusimbi, who had been invited by area Member of Parliament, Hon. Gideon Thembo Mujungu to officiate at the handover of the money to the school administration, observed that the quorum of the people that had turned up to witness the event was unsatisfactory.

He was disappointed that out of the 09 PTA members, only the Chairperson was present while 03 members of the Management Committee out of 11 turned up. He also argued that the number of parents who had turned was not promising while the Town Council Chairperson was not present at the event.

Hon. Mujungu said that he was pleased that that party fulfilled her pledge after realizing that he institution had some dilapidated structures.

The Muhokya Town Council Speaker, Mr. Earnest Masereka and the PTA Chairperson, Geoffrey Barozi Bagambe, pleaded on behalf of administration that they would mobilize all stakeholders to turn up on Tuesday next week at 10:00am to receive the donation.
