The Kasese Resident Judge, Hon. Justice David Makumbi has been transferred to the Anti Corruption Court in Kampala.
Hon. Justice Makumbi was inaugurated as the Resident Judge for Kasese High Court Circuit on September 03, 2024 at Rukoki. His inauguration ceremony was presided over by Hon. Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija, the Principal Judge.
Justice Makumbi, who was today chairing the Regional Coordination Committee Meeting at Rwenzori International Hotel in Kasese town, acknowledged having received a transfer notice from his supervisors, stating that he is supposed to report to the new place of work with effect from April 14, 2025.
He, however, said he would still be coming to Kasese to handle some of the cases that he had started until justice is served.
The Kasese Chief Magistrate, Her Worship Betty Ajok, commended the judicial services rendered by Hon. Justice Makumbi to the population in the district, adding that during his tenure, all the Magisterial Courts across the district including Grade I and IIs had been made operational.
The Kasese Deputy RDC in-charge of Bukonzo County, Lt. Maate Magwara applauded the High Court for performing a crucial role that had helped man the security of the district.
