Kasese Municipal Council is mourning the demise of their member, Zaulia Kyakimwa, a 45-year-old who has been representing Nyakabingo II and Kirembe Wards in the Central Division.
Kyakimwa, who was serving her second political term, succumbed to heart failure at Kilembe Mines Hospital yesterday.
A full council sitting today at her home in Kihalimu-Kyaminyoku cell in Nyakabingo II Ward paid tribute to her legacy as a people’s representative with members describing her as a hard working leader who championed the fight for development of her area.
Mrs. Ziresi Kauli, a woman representative for Kidodo and Kikonzo electoral areas described the deceased as a development-oriented person.
Ms Jolly Biira, a representative of Nyakasanga II in Nyamwamba Division noted that Ms Kyakimwa was passionate about sanitation and hygiene.
Council chaired by Speaker Ukash Swaib Musyenene resolved to name one of the roads in Nyakabingo II ward after the fallen leader.
Kasese District Chairperson, Mr. Eliphazi Muhindi Bukombi said that deceased was a visionary leader who stood by the truth.
Late Kyakimwa becomes the second councilor to leave the earthly life before the end of their term. ENDS
