Believers in Christ have been called upon to use the current Christmas season as a mediation period with God following the good things that they have been able to achieve within the course of the year.
The remarks were sounded today morning by Rev. Betty Mbambu Mwero, the South Rwenzori Diocesan Mothers’ Union leader while preaching to the congregation that had thronged St. Paul’s Cathedral for 2024 Diocesan staff Christmas Carol Service.
Rev. Mwero who quoted the Biblical Book of Luke 1:22 -33, observed need for the Christians to think about the good things that the Almighty God did for them in the previous years as a way of preparing themselves for salvation.
She also appealed to the congregation to embark on the theme, “Christmas into Perspective,” as another way of enjoying this year’s festivities peacefully.
The Church Minister subsequently encouraged the Christians to first prepare their hearts for the Lord than opting for worldly materialistic things, stressing that repentance, reconciliation and forgiveness would help them get out of sin.
Rev. Can. Nelson Walina, the South Rwenzori Diocesan Secretary, who hailed the congregation for honoring this year’s Christmas Carol Service, appealed to them to enjoy the festivities responsibly and peacefully.
