Mr. Geoffrey Bamanyisa, the Town Clerk for Kasese Municipality has the Municipal and District leaders to prioritize the promotion of Tourism Industry saying it has proved to be among the leading sources of incomes to two administrative units.
The Town Clerk sounded the remarks yesterday morning while addressing different stakeholders during the 2025/2026 Budget Conference for Kasese Municipal Council that was held at Virina Gardens in Kasese town.
Mr. Bamanyisa explained that prioritizing Tourism would involve creating a conducive environment for tourists who visit the district, improving more infrastructures like roads and hotels among others.
Mr. Chance Kahindo, the Kasese Municipality Mayor, told the stakeholders during the conference that his leadership would focus on service delivery to all the people irrespective of their political, religious and tribal affiliations.
Mr. Rabson Mupango, the Deputy Mayor told the gathering that they were planning to operate on a budget estimates amounting to 18 billion for the 2025/2026 Financial Year as opposed to the 22 billion shillings for the current Financial Year.
According, the current Financial Year Budget is higher than the forthcoming one because of the funds that the urban centre received from the Central Government under the USMID program.
