At least 15 supporters of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) from Muhokya Town Council, Busongora County South in Kasese district have defected to the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF).

The defectors including Shalom Kabaseke, Abdala Monday and Ali Jingo among others revealed that they decided to leave the FDC party yesterday following the alleged disorganization among the party top officials.

According to them, they were not happy with the way the party conducted her recently concluded vetting exercise.

Speaking to the press in a jovial mood shortly after receiving the defectors, Mr. Saulo Maate, the Kasese District PFF Chairperson welcomed the new members into the party that he said was committed to rebuilding the opposition not only across the district but also in the entire country.

Maate who described PFF as a strong party, congratulated the defectors upon their decision to denounce FDC and join a new party that was progressing. He lashed at the manner in which other political parties conducted their primary elections, alleging that they were marred by a lot of irregularities.

He specifically expressed dissatisfaction with the NRM party, saying it was blackmailing the people with T-shirts using Tax payers’ money.

However, Mr. Ronald Bwambale Kabuku, the Kasese District FDC Chairperson called upon the party members to remain calm, stressing that there was no need for them to rush to join political parties with no progress.
